There is actually. it can be quite a pain to maintain an edge with a bevel that size, so, once I got it shaving with 1 layer tape, I put a 2 layer tape microbevel with a few passes on the 8k->coti->YG Escher.

Beautiful job
It all comes together like it was meant to be, well done.
How many sets of scales did that block yield?
MJC, one. There is a possibility of another set; but, I'm sending the remaining material back to the customer and I won't be finding out if I'm right ;)

That's simply beautiful.. the lined wedge picks up the tones of scales perfectly.. kudos
Beautiful, Brad. I love it. Why such small pins?
Honestly, I don't know, I just felt like it. ;) LOL. I actually had a customer in the store, and I asked her what would look better (holding up two options).....she chose brass versus silver (yes, I had a woman shopping in my store...lol). Sometimes I just make decisions like that on a whim, once it is done, it is done. I think the small washers get out of the way of the ivory, which is the star here.
Very nice, usually I like my blades polished nice and clean, but the theme worked out very well, great job!
If I could trade my olfactory senses, smelling that rotten smell for the remainder of my life only to shave with that beauty, I would... Actually, only if I could call her mine! Great job!
