Very nice. When I read what you were going to make the scales out of I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I like the look of them.

I wasn't sure either until I started shaping and they turned out looking almost like a blonde horn.

There is nothing wrong with leaving some of the Battle Scars and the Soul of the razor! They all don't need to be totally 'Shiny'!
I don't wish to hijack your thread but here's something that I recently did for a sailor down in San Diego CA

I Only used 2K sandpaper to see what I had, then I dropped to 1K and worked a little then I went back up to the 2K and then Mothers Mag Wheel polish with newspaper then the Mothers with cloth.
I could have fairly easily gotten the 'near mirror finish' but I would have lost this already very faint etching;
Keep up the good work!Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
