    Default Silver and Gold Emperors

After my last foray into a pair of Henckels, http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...henks-box.html, My good razor buddy Darl (Tarkus) informed me he had an identical custom-made box!
Much pleading and promises later, He sent it to me! Thanks, Darl!!
This set in motion a project of two Henckels Emperors, One with silver in the front reliefs, and one in gold, done with Rub-N-Buff from Hobby Lobby. The box had to be modified for two razors with a divider and padding adjusted in thickness to the thickness of the scales. Turned out pretty good, I think. Great shavers, too!

The man who made these boxes of maple is quite the craftsman! Getting to know him, he is the epitome of a gentleman!

The razors are both numbered 81, but one (from Graef and Schmidt) is obviously a round point,11/16+, which I have always seen in these, yet the other(From Duncan and Goodell Co of Worcester, Mass) Is a 6/8+ square point. I had done up the gold round point a few years ago, So here goes on the silver one! The rear scale was broken and I had a 5/8 with a broken front scale in my pile. Mix and match scale time?

Nope! Did not take long to figure out that 5/8 and 6/8 Emperors had different lengths/widths of scales.

Could not sacrifice the detail on the front 6/8 scale to match the 5/8 rear, so on to the Bakelite pile (don't laugh!) and found a donor with proper pin spacing, yet larger.

Proceeded to match up the larger rear scale with the original front one.

I got a good match and pinned the silver one collarless in silver, as they were originally done, after doing the silver RubnBuff on the front and cleaning up the blade a bit.

Then I looked at the gold one, decided to unpin and clean up that blade a bit and repin collarless in brass to match the front. Seems to fit, to me anyway!
