    Default OCD U.S.S. Constitution razor

I made this razor for my sister's friend Judy to give to her husband George as a surprise Birthday Gift. They have both been on the Constitution and vacation yearly on St. Simon's Island, Ga. where the oak for her was cut.

She is an 8/8's 3 pinner. Grind is full hollow, jimps cut top, tail and bottom. An exaggerated barber's notch is on the nose. Finish is satin.

Scales are from Douglas Fir salvaged from the carpenter's shop aboard Old Ironsides by a friend of mine while he was serving onboard her. Thanks Jaydee. The wood has been stabilized but I also reinforced the pin holes with brass bushings to prevent splitting. The scales have been laser engraved by my friend Paula who gained notoriety by misspelling "Contitution" on the last USSC razor. She got everything perfect this time. Wedge is polished aluminum and pins are stainless steel.

She honed up easily and shaves like a dream.

    As always, thanks for looking
