Default Wade and Butcher cleaned up and rescaled

Something more traditional today. A pre-1890 6/8 W&B with an interesting spine. I finished the blade with a mat type finish which I think matches the original finish. The spine in polished bright. The scales are smokey black horn with a lead wedge. Silver pins and stacked stainless washers to hold it all together. The original scales had been replaced at some point in the razor's life with white plastic and a black plastic wedge. I just couldn't bring myself to use them.

Very nice work and the scales compliment just fine. Thank you for sharing. Let us know how she shaves.

Honed it up and shaved with it yesterday morning. An extra hollowgrind that sings. Nice smooth shave. Honed up quickly too. 1K, 4K, 8K, 12K and a few strokes on Chromium oxide on felt before going to an English Bridle Leather strop. In my limited experience the English steel seems to hone up easier than American steel.

Absolutely love the look of that matte finish blade! Would appreciate it if you could explain how you accomplished it.
Stunning restore and probably as close to looking like the day it was made!

Very nice work! I like the WB razors, but I have a Friodur 7/8 that I am also really enjoying, too.
