All the best for this project. Its always a littel special, if you work with material, that cost you a lot of money, if you ruin it ;) Hope you will not get problems with some cracks in the tooth. Seems like it have a very nice color.

Another client of Achim :)
I've found SC145 to be very hard after heat treatment. Do you happen to have HRC numbers this razor?
:brunoisright Yes, Achim have a lot of very fine steels. Sorry, I dont have a HRC tester. I´m sure the hardness is over 62 HRC but I dont know it exactly.
No worries. I was just curious. I agree with you. My O2 razors are around 61HRC which I think is the ideal hardness for a razor. I forged 2 razors from SC145 so far, and it is much, much harder than my standard O2 razors.
Very nice!

Now I know before I ask this question that it will make people laugh, but it is a serious one. I've seen mammoth ivory mentioned here on several threads, is it really from mammoths? If so where do you obtain it from?
Love that blade!
Amazing razor, very nice work indeed. My question is this, I keep seeing Mammoth ivory scales and wedges here and there, where do you all get it from? I keeps searching for it with no luck.
