Default 10/8 Giant custom, desert ironwood

Well, I usually don't make razors this big, but this was for a returning customer, so I couldn't really turn him down This one was forged down from 1" bar of Böhler K510 silver steel, the spine was around 8mm thick if I remember right. Scales are made from desert ironwood, CA finished. This one was a really hefty shaver

Very clean lines, I love the way the tang flows into the spine.

    Excellent work.
I've often thought of trying silver steel.
What diameter bar did you start with?

If I remember correctly than it was 25mm in diameter and ground on the surface. This steel gets really hard easily, and takes a very nice edge, I suppose forging helps here a bit too.
