Bengall Imperial 5/8
Yet another ubiquitous Bengall from downunder but...
This one was my idea of a perfect candidate for restoration.
Very light rust on blade faces allowing a 400 grit start. No damage to etch but curious there was only one quotation mark at the 'B' .
Heavy rust only on top of spine,120 grit start there..
Negligible spine wear indicative of only a first factory honing.
Nice full belly & small edge bevel.
Sometimes the less you have to do the more pleasing the results can be. Scales had a light polish with the Novus 1,2,3 & new pins & washers were added.
The first pic was overexposed but I liked it as a close up shot so included it.
Don't know when these first showed in the Bengall lineup but it is a post 1890 razor.
Added to the hone queue.Last edited by onimaru55; 11-13-2011 at 04:47 AM.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
