W. Greaves & Sons
This is my only Greaves. I've had it for a few months just sitting in my restore box. Reground at some points in it's life but a really nice job. It came with hard rubber scales and I replaced them with some smokey brown translucent horn scales with a lead wedge and domes brass collars. Big for a full hollow at 15/16. I'll get it honed at some point today and take it for a test drive tomorrow morning.

Thanked: 315Nice Work! Looks like a new razor.
The color of those scales looks really good. Did you copy the old scales or just use a preferred style? Where are the domed washers from?

I spent some time looking at the Greaves in the forum's razor clubs to find what I thought was an original set in this chopper style. They are like the big scales you see on the Wade & Butcher FBU's.The scales are just my take on those and seemed fitting for the blade. The collars are sold by a gentleman named Austin Kennedy. I think he is from Virginia and sells on eBay. He has different types in nickel silver, stainless and brass.
