Over the course of time I got these as trades for work . Finally I got around to working on them.
The one with the black horn scales comes in at a shy 9/8. The scales were decent so I cleaned them up, reused the lead wedge and had to make up some stacked washers.
With the second coming in at 15/16 it too is a hefty blade . On this one as well as on the other I did a brushed finish on the blade and polished the spine / shaft. But on this one I just had to toss the wood scales in favor of some nicely patterned horn. Here I also used stacked washers and did up an Ivory wedge.
Now my Celebrated (9/8) FBU has some company.Last edited by mycarver; 10-17-2015 at 02:52 PM.

The horn scales are much better than the wood. Looking at the shape - I'm going to call it a chamfer - was that done by hand or using some kind of router?
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Thank you very much.
On the scales I made I kept them flat overall and the chamfer or bevel was cut by hand. Well actually sanded and filed into place rather than a true "cut" but yes it's all hand work.
