Christian razor

This was something I started a long time ago. I was going to make a razor with a Christian cross in the blade hollows, using stainless inserts to make the cross. During grinding, 2 of the inserts fell out, And I scrapped the project but didn't throw it away. Eventually I drilled out the remaining inserts, and filed out the shape of the cross.

The rest went like any other build. I decided to etch it black because a) buffing really isn't an option. The buffer would grab the sharp corners of the cut-out. and b) the cross would stand out more.

For the scales I chose blue glow in the dark kirinite. Not only because of the 'light in the darkness' angle, but also because blue is a beautiful color for this. The blue is a beautiful pale cobalt blue if it has been in bright light.

I like it a lot! The blade contrast really looks nice with those scales, and the cross looks great

I could see this done with acid etching or old fashion micro engraving like they do on guns. I would imagine it would have to be done before hardening that steel.

Really liked the shape of the blade, but the position of the cross on the blade of course for everybody.

Interesting design, quite graphically powerful. nice lines and contrast. I would hate to think what might happen to that razor if it were dropped. I'm glad you found a nice way to finish an old project.
