    Default Josiah Barnes 13/16

Sold this one on the Bay in March to one of our new members, Jason.
Thought I'd do a post sale post.

This is an original resto. Not un-pinned. Stiff hollow, maybe a wedge in its earlier life.
French point tapering from 13/16 -11/16 made in Sheffield England Circa 1834 by pen knife maker Josiah Barnes. Not bad condition for 175 years.
Blade is satin finished & scales had a light buff.

The tang Stamp reads "Josiah Barnes, Duration " with the 'Ouroboros' symbol in centre.
The general meaning behind the symbol is one of constant recreation so maybe that's why this one stayed in good shape

Thats a great blade. I don't recall ever seeing a french point like that.
Great Work!, I really like the satin finish, and I bet long term its better than mirror finishes.
    Thanks for sharing.

Totally bringing up an old thread here. She got new scales today. In the 6 years of using her, the bone scales really needed to be changed out. They deteriorated and the blade is so nice that something had to be done. See attached pictures. I'd like to add, that of all my razors, this is still my favorite to shave with.
