Joesph Elliot Silver Steel
Joseph Elliot's cooperate trade mark was granted in 1805. The firm was restyled Joseph Elliot & Son when his son John joined the firm in 1856. This razor most likely dates 1840 to mid 1850's. The show face side of the razor was in wonderful condition clearly showing the original glazed finish. The back face was extremely pitted. The 13/16 near wedge blade with arris spine is stamped 'universally approved' and a glazed finish was used to match the original finish in restoration. The broken scales were reproduced in translucent honey horn using the original lead wedge and Austin Kennedy's period correct brass collars.
