James Johnson Cast Steel Restoration
No really showing this off but just showing it.
This blade had huge fractures and pitting so I thought I'd use it for re-grind practice. I soon fell in love with it , just about the perfect shape and weight to my eyes.
I gave it a light grind on a 10 inch wheel which took away the pitting and severely reduced the cracks.
Re scaling was a nightmare , it took some time and effort to realise that the blade was bent from the pivot hole to the tail end. So if you looked down the spine over the tang it was perfectly straight ..
Honed it up on naturals tonight , with a full hollow Bengal and took them both for a shave ..
The Johnson was ok, not bad, I only did like 2 strokes when I tried the Bengal, my god , probably have one of my best shaves..
Kinda ruined my plans, pesky full hollow Bengals :)
