Default Wootz and ivory Sheffield replica

This was an interesting project. I was asked to make a replica of an old Sheffield razor, shoulderless, and with some interesting cut and file work on the spine. The scales are straight, as was common in that time period. For the same reason the tail is little more than a stub. The scales on the original are bone and have some work done on them, but for this razor it was decided to use mammoth ivory. I had some mammoth left with a nice warm color that would be fairly common for antique ivory. The wootz is from an ingot smelted by Krzysztof Rusek

The most challenging part was to make the cuts in the spine in the in the tang, making sure everything was straight, centered, and clean.

Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
