Default Heljestrand MK 31 in Faux Tortoiseshell Kirinite

Here we have a lovely little 5/8 Heljestrand MK 31 in Tortoiseshell Kirinite, it's one of mine sadly to say it came with a set of Ivory scales that broke on the pivot during a restoration, after a little thought I decided to go with Kirinte in a faux Tortoiseshell, I used the old Ivory scale to match an exact template, although a modern material I think it lends itself to this classic little blade, I have not worked with Kirinite before must say I'm impressed with the material, I used stainless steel washers and nickel silver pins, I also used the original wedge from the original scales.

That's a tasteful save in perfect keeping with the razor.

It's absolutely beautiful, Jamie. It's even more stunning than an MK 31 that came in original tortoise shell scales.
