    Default 10/8 Sanmai & burl

Good day, razor that I finished a few months ago, I am very proud of it, it was a very difficult job. Measure 10/8, bellied, sanmai steel 416-shirogami 2. And scales in a nice burl.
    Best Regards

At first I forged two sanmai, iron and shirogami2 and stainless 416 and shirogami 2. I decided on the carbon-stainless sanmai.

Forging the blade was not easy, keeping the core centered and creating the necessary distortion was fun. The blade had to be narrowed at the edge so that the shirogami2 did not rise too high. Also the thickness on the spine of the leaf had to be increased.

Another problem was emptying, it had to be bellied. But the upper emptying could not make it very marked, because it would raise the core line a lot.

In the end, I got the desired wood and the right patina.

Very nice....but I'm concerned on how it would handle on a stone or strop, with its tail configuration.

With difficulty . It was a job I did following a very strict design and measurements that the client sent me. Obviously, the client was looking for a very specific aesthetic, still sacrificing comfort.

He was very happy, it was a very rare and difficult razor. I managed to make his idea come true.

It may be hard to handle on a stone or strip but it looks fabulous. A little eccentric but very eye catching.
