Balke & Schaaf 7 Day Set
Just finished restoring this set today. I had to make a decision to unpin or not and i'm glad i unpinned them. Taking care of the tiny solingen collars was tricky & re pinning was a task.
They are now hygienically clean from top to bottom. They also benefited from the addition of internal washers.
Honed on my Ozuku Karasu , the geometry is perfection and the grind is of the super thin variety . (11/16ths)
The case was disinfected and restored also..
Cheers

Thanks Guys :)
I learnt a few tricks along the way. One which was a surprise was when restoring the case..
On the outer normally i would use black shoe polish and buff away but this time i used out of date or "off" Rub n Buff. I wanted to fill in the spine stamped weekdays but the Ebony Rub n Buff had congealed and hardened apart from a semi soft portion near the bottom of the tube.
This stuff is basically back wax that shines up really glossy with next to no effort..
The outer of the case now looks like it has been dyed and glossed.
This inside of the case was sprayed down with fabric sanitiser and hoovered with a mini hoover attachment for cleaning inside PC's . A bit silly making something that old and made of wood/cardboard wet...but it had to be made hygienic and fresh smelling.
The blades should be amazing shavers because the edges are so thin and they are made of that mushey type stainless steel , that's my best description..
