Thanked: 735Wenge W&B Wedge
I had foresworn buying any more fixer-uppers, as hand sanding is a task best suited to those condemned to the gulag or other such forced labor institutions.
But then I saw this beauty, and had to have it.
Blade was in pretty good shape, but I can't help myself-
sand....sand...sand....and then hone....hone...hone....
And then hone some more! This bad boy has 1/8" wide bevels on spine and edge. I actually went out and purchased a 1200 diamong hone just to tackle this razor. Many, many laps on that thing, then my usual diamong lapping film progression and now it's nice and shiny, just how I like it.
Scales are wenge, a nice dense hardwood. Hard to get a good pic of the subtle dark tones. Spacer is maple for a touch of contrast.
Only one shave with it so far, but it seems well up to the task at hand!
A pic of the Ebay listing, and how it looks now, and another one showing the shiny bevely goodness!

That is beautiful, and worth whatever work you put into it.

Thanked: 735This thing shaves like a dream!
Stropping a smiling balde took some adjustment to make sure I got the toe and heel. Razor took a very, very keen edge and the shave was smoooooth.
This razor is good to go for the next 100 years...
