SidneyKidney's first resto attempt (please be kind!)

OK guys here it is. I have yet to get the scales engraved but other than that its completed. This was a long time coming. Thanks go to AaronX for ongoing support and advice, gxsixgun for his pro pins and pinning advice, gugi for his support and many others for your encouragement. This is my very first attempt so be gentle but do give me any pointers and advice. Its most welcome.

The blade is a brand new wapi blade purpose bought from wojtec who sells them without scales as well. My scales are made of mahogony with a pine spacer. The pins are brass and the plaque will be enscribed 'SRP:UK'. This is to be a prize at the first SRP:UK meet up in 15 days time.

I think it is good. I am about to finish my second resto, and it is light years better than my first. So I think you're going to be on track for some good stuff. My input would be to file the edges of the brass plate, A. round the corners so it is more of an elongated oval, and B. sand the edges of the plate creating a tapered bevel that blends nicely with the scales. Overall, looks good!

I think you are correct here Doc. Of everything about this razor I think its the plate that lets it down. I wish i'd taken more time over it, but live and learn. Also I should have taken time over the spacer more. That way I wouldn't have to use wod filler, creating the two-tone effect. I'll know better for next time.
