Wow. That really looks good. I've never seen a bad razor here, and this is no exception. How long did it take you to do it?
I don't really know how long. I work on my sclaes here and there as I am able.
I cut out the blanks, and then they sit for awhile on my desk. I get some free time and I profile and sand them. They sit for a whlie more then I get the guts up to apply CA:cry:, then sand them. Make/find a wedge for them, counterbore the screw holes, etc...
I'm not sure what to say. If I say down and did it soup to nuts at one shot it maybe 2 hours?
That's a lot quicker than I thought it would be on the total time. They really do look good.
It may take longer, that's just an estimate. I've also had some experience in doing it. Maybe 6-8 sets so far?
Scales look great man. :tu
I'm working on my first re-scale attempt right now, hopefully they turn out nice.
Nice looking scales Seraphim...I really like the cherry.
BTW, all this talk of CA...is there a special trick to it?
Outstanding job. Perfect fit for that blade. NICE:tu
That was my post and I just finished my first set in CA. I was using Tung Oil before. There is no trick to it. It was pretty easy. Just read the second post on that thread and use the water thin CA.
Very nice. So far, I have worked with bone, horn, wood, and micarta. I am strongly favoring wood for it's finished beauty and workability. Your razor looks very good. That worked back is fine.
