Talking ... and the ladies scream some more... (a.k.a. Engstrom brass frameback)

Here is my John Engstrom Brass frameback. This is something new to me- one piece scales. First time I tried them. Only really did it because I got this piece of Cocobolo from Dan (Floppyshoes) with the slot cut already and decided to give it a shot. I actually really like the way it came out. Like the grain in it too. Cocobolo is a "B" to use in many respects but it worked out. This razor used to be in old horn scales from another razor and it was time for them to go. Unfortunately the slot was too thin for me to not cut it more for most razors. Fortunately this frameback is one of the thinnest blades I've seen! Whole razor is thin like the blade- you can see that in the third or fourth picture. Anyway, there you have it. I was thinking of selling this one too, but I think I'll at least keep it for a while; it shaves so well. GET SOME.

That is one handsome razor. I love the open pore finish.

The cocobolo really compliments the brass. Nice looking.

    Nice work, Alex.
I knew you'd do something nice with that blank.

I like the simplicity of that design. I really draws all attention on the beauty of the Cocobolo.
What's the finish you got on there?

Framebacks, with their more pronounced lines, are so great for esthetically strong designs.
As always, you did an extra-ordinary job.

    Bart.
