    Default tribal razor?

Here is my latest, I tried to make a tribal style razor. Is there such a thing? I was going to make it with only hand tools but my plans did not work out. I forged the razor profile from a section of coil spring. I then used a spring fuller to make the transition from spine to blade then draw filed the razor and established the bevel. After normalizing then quenching the edge/bevel was very wavy. I then broke down and used the belt sander to grind off the waves and thin the blade.

The horned head may look like it was made by a thirteen year old LOTR fan, but that would be a wrong assumption. It was made by middle aged old hobbit fan. Actually I received some of Gene Chapman’s books for Christmas and wanted to try making a face like the ones in his books.

I used the spring fuller and hot cut something (the horns) for the first time making this. I am having a good time with this black/bladesmithing.

I shaved with it this morning the shape and balance work well.
