Is that real ivory - its not close enough for me to tell. I'm asking because its not often you see ivory with inlays or plant ons. Very nice razor btw, I have a couple of 9/16s and a 3/8. Little razors are every bit as capable as larger ones. More nimble and sporty!
It was early days for me. I was sure it was ivory when I did the clean up.
Looking at those photo's now, I'm wondering if it was bone. It was certainly one or the other. I sold it quite some time ago & seem to recall calling it into question at the time. Let's hope so, or I may owe the buyer an apology, or worse still, some genuine cash refunded!
well..big razors need less wiping as they cover more facial area..small razors which I have a 6/8 and a 5/8 I hardly use due to my hand cramping up..I prefer to use my 7/8 as its easier on gripping and gets more lather with less wiping of the blade IMO

Well pcdad, if you're that lazy to wipe them during use, I'd be happy to trade them for a Mach 3, or better yet my electric Braun...:) You NEVER have to wipe the Braun which makes it even better than your 7/8..
Ben, from my experience those scales look too thick to be ivory.
go get your pricey Mach3 if you choose to..I was making a valid point..no need for the attitude..I also use an electric and as stated by the company..rinse clean while heads are exposed to running under warm water to clean the heads.

Please excuse my humor, it is not attitude I can assure you. I wasn't for one moment being serious about using Mach 3s and electrics - we are on the same side!
Fair play if you dislike smaller razors. When I started I kept getting larger and larger blades, then came back down again to preferring 5/8 and 11/16s in extra hollow grinds. I have many 6/8s and 13/16s.
Because of this post and the fact that I'm sporting a goatee at the moment, I selected my 3/8 for today's shave. I gotta say it really was a good one, but I did have to rinse it quite frequently!
Here she is compared to an 8/8. The most petite and the largest horses in my stable:

PS Ben, thats a superb looking razor regardless of the composition of its handle. Im sure the new owner is extremely proud. I would be very content with it.
Excellent job Ben. :tu
I always appreciate your support & encouragement Max, but this is an old one that's been dredged up, & you've seen it before. You are too kind. :bow:D
Don't you hate it when that happens? I've done the same, only to find the thread was about three years old. :gaah:
