I'm confused. In some of the pictures there appears to be no pin on the wedge end of the handles, but in other pictures there appears to be a pin. Which is it? I like the no pin look a lot.
Those are some pretty dramatic before and after pictures. The shape of those scales goes really good with the shape of the blade.

I am still trying to get a good macro pic of it... but to me there is no doubt that it is inscribed with a crown with a VR beneath it, then "Reynolds" on one line and "Sheffield" on the next
It's actually a flush ground pin, in one picture that was the lighting (or lack thereof) that made the pin completely disappear.
Really nice work. :tu The work on the blade looks very good, and the scales are super. Very nice design flow, and unlike a lot of new work, doesn't look bulky. Altogether a really nice job, IMHO.
