Thread: W.H. Morley 5/8 barber notch in Afzelia Xy-Lay

This is a W.H. Morley clover brand 5/8 barber notch. I love these razors. I will put them up against a $500 razor for their save any day. I have a half dozen of them in my rotation. This one has no hone ware but was pretty black when I got it. It got 400-3600 grit sanding progression then a buffing wheel progression to put the shine back on.

I scaled it in some Afzelia Xy-Lay wood in epoxy resin with a redwood wedge. Afzelia is hard to come by especially the Xy-Lay. This wood grows in East Asia around Cambodia. I happened to get my hands on a nice block of it.

I am going to put it in the classifieds later today. I want to keep it but I need a table saw more so I will be selling it.
