Default JosephElliot Celebrated 6/8 ¼ hollow barber notch in Lacewood

I put this guy together with the intent of keeping it for a very long time. It is a Josephelliot 6/8 barber notch razor. The blade was darn ugly when I got it. It was basically black and rusty. I sanded, and sanded and sanded... This guy has some serious hard steel. There are still a few light pits on the blade but I would have to remove a lot of steel to completely remove the pits. The blade is clean and highly polished.

I put it in a set of highly figured lacewood scales finished in a high gloss epoxy resin. The pivot pin is adjustable. The wedge is Cocobolo and held together with the usual 1/16 brass rod with brass over stainless washers.

I took a very good edge and shaves like a dream. I had planned putting it in my rotation but the recent acquisition of an ivory scaled battle axe of a razor I am going to put it up for sale in the classifieds shortly.
