My attempt at a Friodur redo

Well I still had some walnut burl left,but what's left will be going for a few brush handles. Since I have been meaning to rework this razor that came with the cheap scales I sliced off a piece and whipped up some scales. The finish is 4 or 5 coats of polyurethane, the wedge is maple and the stain is minwax sedona red. In spite of my best efforts the blade came out a little off center. The handle is bent, at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. The blade was buffed with Caswell black,white,blue and green and the nose had to be reshaped so that all the lines came together properly. Hmmm I haven't shaved yet,I think I'll go shave right now.

Very Nice!. I love the walnut burl, it seems not many people use it, but its really a neat wood. You got really nice shaver there and I hope you get many years of service from it.

Nice job. Thats a pretty blade, and I like the burl grain that's showing through. Did you use domed washers?

Yes I did use domed washers,this is the first time I've used them and they worked pretty good. You do have to bend them a little if your scales are very contoured so that they lie flat.

Congrats. Pretty timber & should be a great shave.
Slight critique on the pinning. Looks like the wedge pin & centre pin might have been a tad too long to get flush with the washers but if its all locked up tight it's all good.
