Default Birko No.50 in BAD shape

This one came with a barber hone I bought on E-Bay, and was in such bad shape it went striaght on the junk pile. It sat there for about 6 months until I picked it up and noticed the etch on the blade. I started sanding just to see what the etch looked like, and 5 weeks later its finally finished.
All the sanding was done by hand, couldnt get rid of all the pitting but it came up pretty nice. Only took it to 800 grit, going much past that seems to emphasise the remaining pitting IME.
Faux Tortoise shell celluloid scales got un-pinned and polished, stacked brass washers and pins and a new acrylic wedge.
This one was probably much more effort than it was worth, but I couldnt resist the challenge.
