Default Sword stand for my straight

Not sure if this is the right area but it is sort of a custom build...

I bought a new band saw yesterday so I decided that this weekend was going to be devoted to projects.

I started making a new set of scales for a straight I am restoring, and they are coming along nicely, but I have gone as far as I can with them until some stuff I've ordered arrives.

And I still had the DIY bug in me, so...

I decided to carve a stand to keep the straight on when it is finished.

It is inspired by a Japanese tachi sword stand. Excuse the quick and nasty picture, I just wanted to get it on to show you guys, and I couldn't be bothered getting the proper camera. And this is not the razor it is for, it is going to be a little bigger, so it will match the stand a little better, but you get the idea.

But do your new razor's scales match the handle of the Japanese sword?

    Seriously, very nice job!
