A little freemason theme going on better hope none of the conspiracy nuts catch on or Dan Brown will be writing a book about your scales. This looks like a good start please keep us updated of your progress so we can all see how you work your magic. If it turns out anything like your previous works they will be stunning.
WOW! Those are beautiful!
Can't wait to see it.
You sir, are a true artist. Soon I hope to commission a set of scales.
Will this also be pierce work? It will look wonderful based on your previous works in your gallery.
Looks like its for a Shiner. The gentleman becoming the Worshipful Master?
Jim
Very Nice John!
Yup, this will be a full pierced set of scales out of 16ga. polished nickle with nickle pins and washers.
The scales are for JoeD here on the forums. I hope he likes them. :)
I've been working on these scales for a few weeks now. I cut on them for a bit and then put them up. There is a *lot* of very small cuts in these patterns, and I don't want to rush them and have to start all over. *grin*
But, like i've said, I haven't posted anything recently and I thought ya'll would appreciate seeing what was on the bench. :)
Those will be stunning as is all your work. The amount of detail is amazing!
Looks awesome John . If that's a pierced design I can't even begin to imagine how much work that will take.
I cannot wait to see the finished product. Those drawings look amazing.
As always John, your work is stellar! This will be the center piece of my collection. From one brother to another, thank you.
Looks great! I know a couple masons who would love something like this! Great job! :tu
Your craftsmanship is amazing, thanks for sharing your marvelous work again. Your work is always eye-candy.
wow, just, wow!
Your work unbelieveably beautiful and so intracut, you are in a class all by your self. Never have I seen such fine deal, on razor scale. Its like jewelery for your razor
The details and story you display in five to six inches is amazing.
thought ya'll might like to see a couple in progress pics.
This is about what 6-8hrs. lookis like on this project.
enjoy!
John, those will be absolutely amazing! Really, really great work!
Wow :dropjaw:
Just Wow
Wow, is that a single piece? Or do you do both sides of the scales together? Your work is amazingly detailed it reminds me of the movement on a fine Swiss watch. What kind of blade is going to be matched with this art? It's hard to imagine a blade worthy of such fine scales.
:DThanks!!
Yes, these scales are a single piece of 16 ga. nickle.
JoeD sent me a W&B Masonic blade that will be going into these scales.
oh, btw... here's an update for the end of the week :D
the drilled holes you see on the reverse side are the starter holes for cutting out those sections of the scales.
Smashing.
Absolutely fantastic work.
The detail on those scales are... WOW.
Whoa...amazing! I'll have to send you my masonic razor...:D
Here's a look at the first scales almost finished.
I've still got to do some engraving on it to finish out the detail work, but the cutting is all finished on this half....WooHoo!!
Wow, you must have nerves of steel to do such intricate work. Honestly I don't have the sight to even attempt such work but if I did my hands would be shaking like a mouse during a thunderstorm by the time I made the second cut. You are without peer in the metal scales field.
Wow! Amazing. When i sent you a message about your work. You mentioned work from mild to insane. I would put this in the INSANE catigory! Fantastic
I am vvvvery pleased with the way these scales are looking. Thank you!
Holy Mackerel!!! I wish I had your talent.Excellent work!:dropjaw:
I cannot really understand the meaning of this piece of art.
So many different symbols together…
Symbols of masonry, together with the 2-head eagle symbol of Byzantine Empire, an Islamic sword, and many others.
Is there a meaning here or just symbols put in together?
However, it is beautiful
This may help: freemason - Google Search
Ok, *NOW* this side is done...
I got all of the engraving finished on the different elements, and started cutting on the other scale this afternoon.
enjoy ya'll
John,
You are so damn talented. The engraving sure made the fretwork pop. Very impressive work.
Charlie
Oh my god John. I can barely keep my eyes in their sockets!
Holy $#@$! Those are absolutely stunning. Completely one of a kind work. I have never seen anything like that in scales! Amazing work, just absolutely amazing.
:bow :bow :bow
Fan-Freaking-Tastic!!
:bow :tu :bow
I would say that I wish I had that kind of talent, but frankly, I'm glad YOU have it, because you use it so well!
Wow and I though they were good looking in the last pic. But with all the additional detail you really brought them to another level. Congratulations now I guess you just need to work another miracle for the other scale.
