Geneva Cutlery in stainless
Staying with my idea of experimenting with various materials and having fun with aluminium I decided to try stainless steel. I've had the metal in my garage for over 15 years from when I worked in a candy factory. I drive my wife nuts when I collect things that I "may" use some day.
I read and figured that they would be heavy and here are the unscientific results.
Geneva and stainless 77.0 grams
stainless scales 23.2 grams (They were exactly the same!:))
simiular celluloid scales 6.8 grams
Wilson and bocote 45.2 grams
aluminium and Edaco 38.2 grams
stock Henkels 38.2 grams
The balance is definitaly changed in the direction of the scales. I did nick myself using them but will have to experiment more to see if I can blame the scales.:D
I don't usually shave on fishing trips but I might toss these in my tackle box. If the fishing is slow I could add a treble hook to them and see if they could catch anything.
