I decided for a change of pace to do a quick clean up rather than new scales etc. I even took before pictures this time.
Thats when things started to go wrong. I broke a scale trying to unpin it. Oh well things just got a little more complicated. I still have a good blade. While polishing the blade I then proceeded to break that. Damn!
I have a coworker that makes carving knifes out of broken razors so I could have given it to him. But I decided to try to make something useful myself. I tried to keep the profile of the blade and I have some antler that I have been wanting to do something with. Straightening the antler added some fun learning to this project. The following is what I ended up with.
It doesn't shave worth a darn but it cut cheese for supper fine and might peel potatoes ok. I think this one will get assigned to the kitchen.
