    Default Something different

After all of the cutwork on the last project, this project is a nice change of pace.
It's inlayed maple burl in a polished nickle scale.
I've got the metal part of the scales done, and inlayed the burl vanieer.
I did have a small piece of the vaneer chip on me, and will have to deal with that when I get back to the bench next week.
The wood is inset into the metal and sets down just a bit to allow for a final sealing coat of crystal epoxy. That will seal the wood, and protect it and come up even with the level of the metal.
These scales have been really fun to play with and are *much* lighter that I would have expected when starting out on this project.

    enjoy.
