Custom 10/8 Blue G-10
Hello All,
I am a newer SRP member here in Iowa and this is my first time showing any of my custom razors. I have benefited to much through the generous advice and information in these forums. I can't thank everyone enough ! Little timid to post these among so many gifted craftsmen but thought it was time.
Just finished this one a few days ago. Blade is O1, pins are stainless. Blue G-10 scales with a white spacer.
I like shaving with these larger razors so this is what I tend to make. Although, this would be one of the largest that I have tackled.
I guess I would call this a 1/4 hollow but some folks may consider it close to half. Spine is 5/16 and scales are thin and sleek. Total weight is about 6 oz. Balance is good and tried to design it to be very maneuverable for such a monster. Just got done shaving with it this evening and it is silky smooth and very easy to move around.
I like to temper my blades on the hard side. Can't pinpoint the Rockwell since I don't have a tester, yet. Since I do all my own tempering I think it to be about 61-62. This just based on my limited experience.
Let me know what you think?
Best Regards Kenny

Looks great Kenny!
A little bigger then I would like to use, that being said it's a push for me to use a 8/8.
Like you said, you made what you liked and that's the most important!
Well done and I look forward to the next one.
