Hello all.
Here are a couple of pics of my first full restoration. I don't know much about the actual blade sorry. I came across it in a local antique store and the engraving on the blade really appealled to me.
The scales were busted so I made these new ones from acrylic. I couldn't find any sand paper finer than 1200 but I decided that I actually quite look the "Saturn" look anyway.
I tried peening but found that I wasn't happy with the end result so I brought some Micro Fasteners online.
There is some deep pitting on the blade that after getting some advice from here I decided not to sand too hard on. I didn't want to break it after putting so many hours hand sanding into it.
I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out but I'll live. I found getting the sanding even on both scales quite difficult. Hopefully my bad photos will hide some of that :)
After taking the pics I notieced the dust so If you're wondering what the spotting stuff is that it.
