    Default Ye Olde Bengall

This is obviously a Bengall but the pile side tang shows no TR Cadman or Sheffield marks at all.
Not sure if that makes it a Luke Cadman razor but the horn scales & pewter wedge could make it an oldie.
Blade had some devil's spit that wouldn't shift but clean up progressed nicely on the SiC carbide impregnated buffs (120-600 grit) A final buff with compounds & it was onto the scales.
A couple of bug bites needed filling but scales had plenty of sound meat on them & a nice grain to boot. I neglected the usual Neatsfoot oil treatment but will give them a few coats as I noticed some surface hairlines after polishing.
Cutting edge is 2.75" long so not likely a modified roundpoint. She's also close to 7/8" at the widest & shaves like a big full hollow should

    Thumbs up

    Oz,
You da man...That is one masterfully executed & beautiful restore...especially if she had the Devil's Spit.

I have the exact same Bangall (I think) in original ivory that I snatched from Max. Beautiful restore there too.

Lovely restore, there seems to be quite a few Bengall razors for sale on UK Ebay at the moment, but for some reason I can't win one!

Jamie, Just keep at it. You'll snag a good one. They're out there & worth the effort.

Fantastic restore Oz. Very nice indeed. I really like the shape of the tip of the spine. Is the wedge original lead?
