Default Custom 6/8 Damascus "38 Special"

    Hello,

This is a sweet little 6/8 custom shaver that I have been working on between builds. The blade is my own hand hammered Damascus (pattern welded steel). In this case I used 1095 and 15n20 for the billet both good high carbon steels, and forged a relatively "low layer count" for contrast.

    Scales are lemon yellow G10
    Pins and fasteners are stainless
    White Ice corian spacer

At one point I thought, what am I going to do with all this yellow?, and decided to add these old ww nickle plate 38 special shell caps. Pinned the scales underneath the caps.

First shave test last evening and I was stunned at how easy to handle this thing was and a veeery close shave indeed.

Thanks for looking guys and have a good one !

    Best Regards
    Kenny

Awesome work as always Kenny. You even made yellow look good! Cartridge bases are a great touch.

    I love it

As soon as I read the ".38 Special" I started smiling, I used to do almost the exact same thing on the custom rifles I built.. I would use the Cartridge heads and make washers out of them for the sling swivel studs...
Kenny only you, would refer to a 6/8 as a sweet "Little" shaver Looking good brother, looking good

Great work! That blade is beautiful and matches perfectly with the scales. Some lucky shaver out there is going to have a real treat.

Beautiful. I don't know why, but straight razors and guns go well together

I like it, well done. A stunning razor.
You should use .45 cartridge heads. I used it for a Wade & Butchers.
