A Bow, A Brush and some Horn
This is an old Wade and Butcher "Bow Razor". Again I sometimes forget to take the before pictures. Take my word for it, the blade was well pitted and worn. The etching on the blade was pretty much gone which made the decision to sand on it a lot easier. This is my first attempt at working with buffalo horn but I do like the stuff. The scales are lightly streaked and the matching brush has a bit more streaking. The wedge is camel bone and it was repinned with brass. To my surprise the blade honed up very easily and I got a very good shave out of it. The stand for the brush and razor was a last minute impromptu project and although I was happy with the look and the design, the process was a learning curve. The top horizontal piece is camel bone and I wasn't sure how it would react to the things I needed to do to it. You notice I didn't show a lot of pictures of the stand.
I did enjoy the project and I hope you enjoy viewing it.
