Cool When Life comes up Lemons, make Lemonade, or a Kamisori

So let me tell you a story of a man named Harry, who bought a nice 6/8 Kroop razor, he sent it somewhere???? to be honed, and Lemons, they explained that there was a crack in the blade and to get in touch with me
So I finally get the razor to find a mean 1/2 inch long crack from the edge straight up.. The crack was about 1/2 inch from the heel so I figure I can grind it out and make a shoulderless shaver out of it anyway... Wrong, more Lemons, I touched that heel to the grinder and Ping Zing sssssssteel shards flying, that puppy came apart hard...
I had maybe 50 mm left of the edge sooooo I tell Harry give me a few days to screw around with it, and let's see what happens..

I went to the 2x72 and started grinding the tang off, smoothed it up, and thinned it way down, I was going to take off the Tail but after I had a feel for the Tang I ended up liking the way it handled..
I smoothed up the neck and the heel of the blade on a 2.5 inch wheel giving it a gentle curve, I decided to leave the round point intact..
Now I had the shapes, I wanted but had a punched out messy pivot hole, so I drilled it out to 1/8 inch and filled it with Liquid Red acrylic I don't know, I almost drilled a few more holes to make a design, and thought better of it considering all the Lemons so far
After I finished polishing, I Blued the tang and spine, then re-polished the blade to give it a worked look instead of an exact line...

Anyway here is the finished razor a Kroop Razor made of Sheffield English Steel, ground in Hamburg, Germany, and made into a Japanese, Kamisori style razor in Idaho, USA what a Journey... After all that work I sure hope it shaves good

Haven't decided which direction I am going for honing yet, I guess I will set the bevel on the 1k Chosera since there are a couple of very small chippys in the edge and go from there...
