I am a sucker for Henckels. So many grinds and variety, all quality! An Emperor has eluded me! Nice ones are pricy. I bought one with nice scales and a honed down blade. I waited for a few years until I was asked to remove this blade from some sterling silver and install a Sheffield. The spoils went to me! Man, was that blade honed down. This #81 is 6/8! Some pitting was still there after I did all I was comfortable with. I did not want to change the personality of the grind, so It is not perfect, but nice. The scales were polished and scrubbed and needed something to make them "pop". I used some gold Rub n buff in the low spaces. I like the result.
I also managed to pin it collarless as original without breaking the scales! :D
