At the last Houston meet one of our members picked up a naked blade Bengall. I put it in Giraffe bone dress with red G10 wedge. when I first saw it I thought "no problem"..... :gth After I got the scales done I really started looking at the blade and found a bunch of micro chips and pits all over it. Well out came the 600 greaseless and up the progression I went. Still has a few spots but I didn't want to get to crazy and thin it down to much. I has a funky toe but if I evened things out it would have ended up around 3/8-4/8. Had to massage to shoulder a smidge also. Ran it up the Norton 1/4/8K then 12K Naniwa to 16K Shapton. Laser edge now. I wanted to leave the scales looking a little "rough". something about the Bengall made me want to make it "wild".
