Glen,
First and foremost! As always, Great Work! Absolutely Beautiful!!
As the recipient of a several heirloom razors I understand that the monies invested might not be ‘economical’ but the results are very ‘satisfying’!
‘With that said’ (my equivalent to your ‘at this point in time’) When I’ve shown the owners what I’d done to clean up, honed and put back into daily use the razors that they had given me, they were very grateful and impressed. They have all thanked me for taking care of their heirlooms!
What is surprising is that I’ve always told those who wanted to give me their father’s/grandfathers/brother’s razors is that they should be given to a son, grandsons, or great grandsons. The response has always been very similar: “To them these are just pieces of steel, you will take care of them and use them”.
I’ve tried to do so with each and every razor!! The last razor that was given to me was by a gentleman who is in his late 80’s! He gave me his grandfather’s straight razor in the box it was purchased in (purchased here in Walla Walla where I live) and his shaving mirror!
With your help, I was able to give it an absolute ‘mirror’ finish. When I showed it to him and he just beamed! He thanked me!
The warm feeling doesn’t get any better that that!
Wow!!! Came out real nice Glen.
A great save! As I scrolled past the two "before" pics (and not reading carefully) I thought that you just needed help identifying this worn-out razor. I didn't realize it had that much vibrancy left inside! And great choice on the scale color. GJ!
Man! I must go thru my junk pile! Great Save!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's cool, just really cool to be able to save an old piece of history esp one that must be treasured...
Totally outstanding work.
The attention and care plus the skill that allows these old heirlooms to be brought back to life totally inspires me.
To me I live making a knife from scratch, but to transform an old str8 back to its former glory is more rewarding.
Now time to dig into my stockpile of 25+ old str8's ans bring them back alive.
Thank you so much your inspiration is appreciated bug time.
Regards,
Brian
Just read this again and I hate the iPhone predictive text! Bug time! Should be big time...

That is awesome Glenn! I like that color, keep that in mind for me in the future here...;)
