My First Scales!!
Alrighty, so here is my first set of scales that I made yesterday. Thanks to Spazola with the video explaining how to make scales with near to nothing but a few hand tools. I followed the video and came out with this result which I still need to finish the wood off with some lacquer. The blade is actually in the process of getting restored which is a Torrey let me know what you guys think.
thanks
Justin

Thanked: 170I like the wood and the shape a lot. Very tastefully done - the scales match the blade beautifully. My only question is the location of the wedge pin - it looks like it is not centered -this may just be the angle of the photograph. IMHO a centered pin fits the design better. Excellent all round first job!

Nice job. Lines of the scales are very pleasing to the eye and flow nicely with blade.
I've got what appears to be the same Torrey blade and in my opinion takes a wicked edge. All you have to do is touch the edge lightly to a hair and it literally slices through it. I can't wait to see it finished. Please post some pics when your done, I always like to see other's handywork.

Great first scales.
The lines flow smoothly.
You should be proud as punch.
Thanks for showing us.
