This one piece razor has an O1 blade 7/8s X 2 1/2, with a unhardened steel shaft with a wire wrapped handle. It may look a little stiff but actually feels very nice in the hand.
I blame/credit :tu onimaru55 for the design. He mentioned polearms when talking about my razors. I had to look up polearm to see what it meant. I thought they looked cool. This is the result from looking a google images for polearm.

Whoa that's something else! Awesome work.
I would not say it is tricky to hone, but there is a bit of a clunk as you rock form one end of the straight section to the next. It takes a regular rolling x stroke. Once you get used to it is not a big deal. But it is not as smooth as a razor where the spine and blade edge have the same curve.Quote:

Ok . But how does it shave??
It shaves well, the shape is a little out there, but it really feels good in the hand. When you hold it your thumb fits up between the blade and shaft and makes a good secure hold.Quote:

Speaking as a guy who regularly wears tights, and used to get hit in the head by guys with swords, and hangs out with Vikings (yes, they still exist!) I truly love that blade!

That blade is crazy Medieval. I really like it....You can shave with it, or hang it on a wall. Either way, super cool.
Outside the box. Incredibly unconventional. I like it. Is the blade welded into the shaft?

lol, this thread has me wondering how sharp I can get one of those hanwei mini katana's. Carbon steel, differentially hardened & tempered like their big brothers.
