Trying Something New "Black Oxide"

Thought I would try something new "Just baby steps at a time". Just used stacked washers for the first time. I used black oxide, stainless and brass pins. I couldn't find any post on someone using black oxide washers so thought I'd give them a try. Can't really tell from the pictures, but the bigger washers are black oxide. They polished up to a onyx color. The razor is a 6/8 R.Schlag Extra Fine. Never heard of it. The scales are yellowheart with ebony for the wedge. My peening is getting alot better. I went from full sledgehammer swings and having to redo alot of pins and broken scales to very light taps. That works ALOT better. Live and learn I guess.

I can't really tell the difference in the washer color by the pics. But I really like what you've done. The pins look great. The shape is nice, and the colors are perfect. Blade finish is great too. Thanks for sharing!

Will look for the pics, I used the Black Oxide washers on an Orange Acrylic scaled razor but I left them Black with a smaller Brass washer stacked on top, it has been quite awhile back though. I liked the look gotta find the pics for ya

Can you blacken S.S. washers?.razor looks great.

Thanks the black oxide polished up to much I think cause up close the difference is only subtle. If I would've just used the brass washers I think you could tell the difference alot more.

The biggest washers are stainless steel coated with black oxide.
