    Default Old English Razor Restore

Got this one off of the bay. If the markings are correct I put this one between 1837-1845. I would've like to keep the scales, but they were pretty bad. So I did the scales in Redheart with a Holly wedge and nickel silver pins and sterling silver washers. Only used alittle polish to shine it up some, but wanted to leave it with some age. The razor was a pain to hone way beyond my experience to do, but I managed to get a really good shave off it. I still need to send one out to get done by someone that knows how to hone alot more than I do and compare cause I am sure mine aren't even close to be as good. I am used to full hollow grinds and was surprised at how quiet this thing shaved. I wasn't even sure I was shaving. I have to get myself a wedge and try that out. First pic is the before from the bay rest are after. There isn't a maker name or anything. Wondering if it was ground off or something. Either way it shaves well so I am happy.
