A bit of Custom fun
So a while back I was at Dllandry's house making some strops. He handed me a razor to restore for him, and then gave me a second one. The second one he gave me had a monster crack. About a third of the way off the heal, and about 3/16's long. Sort of in a place where you can't really grind it out without it just functioning as a nice letter opener. So I though maybe I'd try something.
I've been fiddling with it for a couple weeks in between other restores. Five minutes here, five minutes there.
Here's a series of pics showing what I came up with.
Thanks for looking.
@Baldy - Thanks for the inspiration man! :)

Great save! Love the acrylic.

Amazing job. I'm really interested in the handle. How does it handle on those tight angles on the face?

That came out really nice, great job :tu

Hopefully she'll go on the hones tomorrow. I've a batch to do before they all get sent home, and this one's in the pile. I'll post an update once I've shaved with it.

Very nicely done mate, it looks beautiful.
I really enjoy shaving with this style of razor, I'm sure you will too

I'm impressed. I probably would have just thrown it away.

Damn, Nate! You're on quite a roll lately. You've taken things up quite a few notches in the past couple of months. That is one cool-looking razor!
-
That deserves a round of applause and a standing ovation. Now I kind of want to start doing likewise! True inspiration from the truly inspired!
-
I like what you did with the blade. Very hybrid looking.

That turned out excellent. No razor goes to waste while you can still make it into something usable.
