Very cool Charlie. Love the blade and love the different way you look at things. Thanks for sharing this.

Brilliant I love how it looks like a folding razor from one side then Surprize its a fixed blade.
I wunder if it would be posable to make a magnetic washer instead of the brass one it might help hold it straighter as it closes. Ive seen rare earth magnets with holes for mounting with a screw just never quite that small.
Very unusual and inovative and great looking blade, magnets are something that's been used in one of the high end Spyderco knives, the T-Mag, it's UK legal non locking knife, and they use a rare earth magnet to keep the correct resistance to hold the knife in a open position.

Removable scales? What an idea!!! I like the concept but, and this is just my personal taste, the lack of symmetry takes away from the design. Instead of a pin through, would a "snap in" be possible? Such as a rounded out piece where the pin would go and the scales would have the "male" piece to click the blade in... And a pin where most third pin scales go, for stability and to keep the scales together.
... Perhaps I am spouting nonsense. But I love the concept! I think you really have something there. Could easily turn into a instant replacement scale system. Genius, plain and simple.

Branching out into exotic steels and chasing the daring water quench too. You're coming along Charlie!
Now, I don't know if everyone is just too polite to mention to a Texas fellow that the whole system really looks sort of side-saddle-ish. This blade isn't a lady is it? :)
Incredible, amazing work. What a great idea.
Very nicely done.
What I meant was adding a third magnet in place of the washer on the pin would pull the tang tight to the side of the scale while the razor is open one would help keep it lined up while closing it. If I'm not mistaken the magnets currently in the Scale hold it closed once it is already closed.
Again genius Idea and I absolutely love your razors.
