I was given a razor from a great uncle who I actually never knew. He apparently had been a barber and two razors were found in an old box of his things. I was excited because I'd always wanted a straight, but when I got the blade in hand, it was in sad shape.

I spent weeks sanding it and polishing it up to where it was no longer rusty. Trying to find out about the blade and how to sharpen it up were what led me here months ago. I decided that I wanted to hone this guy myself. I since have cleaned up a few other blades and had them shipped off to be honed, but I've consistently worked on this guy trying to get a shave-able edge out of it, until today, with minimal success.

But today it ask came together for me! I got a really nice edge on it finally and had a great shave, all the more so because I did every bit of the work myself. I'm feeling pretty damn good tonight!

Also, I haven't been able to find anything at all about the blade online. The tang is marked My Barber followed by what appears to be TOMBART and then St. Louis, MO.

Anything at ask anyone could add would be a godsend.

Still plenty of pitting, bit she's a beauty and she's from family!
